In Action
It wasn’t a lost weekend for Gamecocks athletics, though:
–#12 women’s soccer is now 3-0-0 after a 1-0 double overtime victory over #22 Boston U as Raina Johnson (104′) had the game winner. Milwaukee comes to town on Sunday.
–Men’s soccer got in on the double OT action, too: they topped Belmont 1-0 on a goal by Kurtis Turner. They look to jump to 2-0 on Tuesday when they host that one school from the Upstate.
–Volleyball swept Gardner-Webb in their season opener (25-15, 25-19, 25-21) at the Gamecock Invitational. They’ll play Jacksonville (1pm) and Georgia Tech (7pm) today.
–Men’s golf is tied for 6th after one round of the Carmel Cup at Pebble Beach.
–Women’s cross country opens their season at the Carolina Invitational today.
