Connor Shaw Cut By The Browns

Connor Shaw has been cut the Cleveland Browns as they finalize their 53-man roster.

In a move that will frustrate many Browns and Gamecocks fans alike, it seems like it’s a situation in which Shaw was just one of many young quarterbacks, with one of them of course being Johnny Manziel.  Many fans felt as though Shaw had earned a spot, especially after his performance against the Washington Redskins in which he brought the team all the way down the field to have a chance to win if they had hit the two point conversion.  Johnny Manziel is clearly the future of the Browns’ organization, and many people felt like Shaw would be the perfect backup to Manziel as they have very similar styles in how they play. Connor Shaw led the NFL in the preseason in quarterback rating with a 155.8, more than 20 points ahead of Russell Wilson who was second.

Shaw will be placed on waivers and have a chance to be picked up by another team. If he clears waivers, the Browns may sign Shaw to the practice squad, which many people feel could happen.
