South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Texas A&M: Tailgating/Kickoff Weather Report
By Sydney Hunte
Here’s the weather report for before, during and after kickoff for the South Carolina Gamecocks vs. Texas A&M Aggies. Fortunately these two teams are used to playing in the heat, so it shouldn’t be of a benefit or a detriment to either team. However, conditioning will obviously play a part with fans, water bottles and towels fully stocked on the sideline for both teams.
Here’s what to expect:
In a word: Hot.
Bring plenty of water, because, as Columbia residents will tell you, it gets really, really hot during the day. It will obviously cool off a little during the course of the evening, but that 6pm kickoff will still fell pretty stuffy.
Tailgating forecast–2-6pm
Mid 90’s, around 30 percent humidity. Again, make sure to pack up that water in full supply.
Kickoff–6pm
Still hot. 95 degrees is the forecasted kickoff temperature.
Halftime–7:00-7:30pm
Dipping into the lower 90s.
After the game–9:00pm-9:30pm
Still stuffy. Middle 80’s with humidity creeping up to 40-45 percent.
