South Carolina Gamecocks Football Countdown: Four Days
By Sydney Hunte
Our countdown to the 2014 college football season continues as just 4 days separate us from kickoff between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Texas A&M Aggies at Williams-Brice Stadium on August 28.
Who wears #4: Bryson Allen-Williams (LB) and Shaq Roland (WR)
Allen-Williams and Roland are a pair of names that you’re going to be hearing a lot this season.

Allen-Williams, the true freshman that signed as the #6 linebacker in the country, looks as if he’ll be slotted in that new “BOB” or “Big Ol’ Backer” position that the team has drawn up. We’ve mentioned several times how deep that LB corps is, but it’s good to see a freshman get the opportunity to prove himself immediately.
Roland’s already proven that he’s a good player. After a 2013 season that saw him haul in five touchdowns as part of his 25 receptions and 455 yards (including that 65-yard bomb from Connor Shaw versus North Carolina), he’ll have a new QB throwing to him, but with the time that Dylan Thompson has seen, the two should be very used to each other.
