Gamecocks in the Pros: Browns QB Connor Shaw breaks Twitter with last-minute Hail Mary TD
By Sydney Hunte
So, Connor Shaw.
A 45-yard Hail Mary TD to pull the Cleveland Browns within one of the Washington Redskins, 24-23, with no time left.
However, the ensuing two-point conversion failed, and Cleveland took the loss.
But Mr. Shaw just about broke Twitter as a nation reacted to what they saw. Here’s a select few of those tweets that we were able to grab just a few moments after it happened.
The quarterback race in Cleveland still looks to be Brian Hoyer’s to lose, with Johnny Manziel bringing up the rear in backup and Rex Grossman looking to get a handle on the third string spot. But, at least for a few minutes on this Monday night, the former South Carolina Gamecocks signal caller got the nation talking a little bit.
Maybe this guy won’t turn out to be so bad over in Cleveland after all. We’ll see.
