Add two more to the 2015 list for the South Carolina Gamecocks.

A pair of four-star (Rivals.com) JUCO recruits–top DE Marquavius Lewis (Hutchison CC, Kansas) and ILB Davon Durant (Butler County CC, Kansas) verbally committed to the Gamecocks today, making an already stellar recruiting class that much better.

Lewis, with offers from Alabama, Clemson, Georgia and others, and Durant, who had schools like Florida State and Texas A&M calling, were high-school teammates at Greenwood High in South Carolina, but their paths separated as they both decided to take the JUCO route, albeit at different programs. They’ll be reunited at Columbia in a couple of years as they round out their collegiate careers with the Gamecocks.

Greenwood, by the way, has been pretty good to the Gamecocks in recent years. That just so happens to be the alma mater of former DT Kelcy Quarles, who’s now with the New York Giants as an undrafted free agent.

Lewis and Durant’s additions make it twenty-four recruits that have committed to the Gamecocks from the class of 2015 as the team remains at #2 on Rivals.com’s rankings.
