South Carolina football recruiting: Ga. WR Kyle Davis verbals
By Sydney Hunte
Lawrenceville (Ga.) Archer athlete Kyle Davis took the trip to Columbia for South Carolina’s Gamecocks Showcase football camp today. He left as the team’s first commitment from the class of 2016.
Davis, who had offers from schools like Boston College, Duke, Louisville and Wisconsin among others, made his decision just this afternoon, and took to the old Twitter machine to announce his college choice to the world.
"Officially committed to THE University of South Carolina #Cocky"

Davis currently doesn’t have any stars over at Rivals.com, but 247Sports.com has him as a four-star. Again, he’s being listed as an athlete, but will almost certainly be a wide receiver in college.
While 2016 is a long way off, it’s good that the Gamecocks have gotten a decision early on from a player that they hope can contribute at the WR position down the road, and for now, at least, it looks like that decision will stick although Davis has a lot of high school ball still left to play.
