South Carolina football recruiting: N.C. four-star RB Johnny Frasier to visit this weekend
By Sydney Hunte
A four-star running back is set to visit the South Carolina Gamecocks this weekend as the staff looks to add to an already solid 2015 recruiting class.
It’s Johnny Frasier out of Princeton (N.C.), who will be in town this weekend, according to Phil Kornblut over at GoGamecocks.com. And his numbers are impressive: 3,054 yards, 55 touchdowns as a junior.
This kid looks like he’s going to be good.

We’ve mentioned it before here: the running back battle will be a big one to watch in 2015. This upcoming season will be starter Mike Davis’ junior year, and a productive, injury-free year will almost guarantee that he will declare for the NFL Draft when it’s all said and done. The 2015 campaign will be Brandon Wilds and Shon Carson’s final years of eligibility as well as David Williams’ redshirt sophomore year, and will see Joe Blue as a redshirt freshman if he is indeed asked to sit out 2014. With three-star Virginia RB
A.J. Turner already in the fold for next year
, it wouldn’t hurt to add Frazier, who’s the #1 running back in the country at 247Sports–#24 in the class according to Rivals.com.
By the way, last year was just his third season playing the game. His high school coach told Kornblut that Frasier is “still learning”. I’d be interested to see how good he is once he is done “learning”.
