Well, this seems familiar.
The South Carolina Gamecocks and Campbell Fighting Camels will square off–again–in the Columbia Regional, just like on Friday.
This scenario doesn’t seem familiar to the Gamecocks, though: elimination from their own regional, let alone coming off a loss in the NCAA Tournament: their 28-game home winning streak in the postseason ending after a defeat against the Maryland Terrapins last night. They need to beat Campbell again, then take two in a row from Maryland to advance to the Super Regional. Next loss: the season’s over.

How they got here: The Gamecocks dropped their first home NCAA tournament game in twenty-eight tries as they lost to the Terrapins last night, 4-3, to drop down into the loser’s bracket. The Camels stayed alive by eliminating Old Dominion, 4-1, in twelve innings as they scored three in the top of the 12th.
