Gamecocks offer 2016 defensive tackle Nyles Pinckney

After landing a defensive tackle for the class of 2015 last week, the South Carolina Gamecocks have targeted another interior lineman for the 2016 recruiting class.

South Carolina extended an offer to four-star Whale Branch (SC) DT Nyles Pinckney  on Wednesday. Pinckney also has offers from Clemson, Florida State, Florida, Georgia Tech and North Carolina. The Gamecocks inked three-star 2015 DT Jozie Milton (LA) last week and 2014 signee Dexter Wideman from Saluda is currently working to academically qualify.

Clemson is considered the favorite to sign Pinckney at the moment, but South Carolina is hoping to make a push for his services. The 6’3″, 285-lb defensive tackle racked up 91 tackles, 16 TFLs and seven sacks during his freshman campaign. Pinckney is rated the third-best South Carolina prospect in the class of 2016. The Gamecocks currently don’t have any commitments for 2016.
