Some South Carolina Gamecocks news and notes from around the Web to kick off your week:

–The softball team is headed to the Tallahassee Regional, where they’ll open with a showdown against South Florida (Friday, 4:30, ESPN2). We broke down the other three teams in the regional, including eighth-seeded Florida State and Fordham, which you can see here.

–By the way, the SEC is sending a total of eleven teams (tops in the country) to the field of 64, including six national seeds: (2) Alabama, (4) Georgia, (5) Florida, (10) Tennessee, (14) Kentucky and (15) Mizzou. Auburn, LSU, Mississippi State, the Gamecocks and Texas A&M complete the list. (Bracket is here.)

–Football picked up a tight end–three star 2015 Kyle Markham from St. Louis (Mo.) St. John Vianney pledged to the Gamecocks and will join in 2015. Iowa, Memphis and Western Kentucky were his other offers.

–Finally, Jadeveon Clowney apparently blinged out prior to the draft in anticipation of raking in millions and millions in the next few weeks. Here’s what he got, according to TMZ:

"24k gold necklace with 10 ounce gold bar surrounded in a frame peppered in diamonds (estimated value: $20k)Presidential Rolex watch with black face (estimated value: $45k)Gold angel pendant with diamonds (estimated value: unknown but expensive)"

Extra credit for him–because he “also bought gifts for family members and people in his camp.” It’s his money, so it’s all good.
