It seems that the Buffalo Bills are interested in moving from the ninth pick to either the first or second slot to make a play for either Jadeveon Clowney or Auburn tackle Greg Robinson.
So says ProFootballTalk.com’s Mike Florio, who is reporting that the Bills have been hitting the phones in hopes of getting to the top and getting one of their main men:
“It’s unclear what it would take to get a deal done. With both the Texans and Rams hoping to slide down, the Bills could spark a bidding war for a bargain. Regardless of the cost, it appears that G.M. Doug Whaley, who could have a new boss by the end of the year, hopes to make the team dramatically better, quickly.”
That throws a little wrinkle into it. We haven’t heard a whole lot about the Bills making such a big move up, but, as Florio implies, it may be a play by Whaley to make an early impression on the Bills’ prospective new owner or owners. (The team’s original owner, Ralph Wilson, passed away in March.)
