First and foremost, my sincerest apologize for the lack of content post-blowout loss in Gainesville.

I was there, in the Swamp, in my Garnet and Black, getting my mind blown further into oblivion with each fumble.

That apology segues nicely into the point of this post, though.

Despite two straight agonizing defeats, there is a lot at stake in SC’s final four games.

First of all, a second straight 10 win regular season is on the line in each of the Gamecocks remaining contests. Carolina should be favored against Tennessee, Arkansas, Wofford and Clemson, and if they win out, this Carolina team will become the first to win 10 games in two straight seasons.

Next, 11 wins counting the bowl game at the end of the year is still within reach. They’ll have to win out and then probably defeat a Big 10 team in the Capital One or Outback Bowl to get their second straight 11 win season in the bag.

Most importantly, a fourth straight win over the Clemson Tigers is out there. It wasn’t too long ago that a win over that team from the upstate made for a great season in the eyes of Carolina fans. The SEC championship may be out of reach, but something tells me if the Gamecocks win 10 regular season games and finish it off with another victory over the Tigers, all will be well in the capital city.

The rest of the season starts Saturday at Noon against Tennessee, and in spite of some crushed hopes and dreams, this squad should be ready to take out their anger on the Vols.
