In a shocking development, an SEC opponent of the South Carolina Gamecocks went an entire game without holding a South Carolina defensive player.
Actually, it’s not shocking at all.
This hold-free game makes it three straight SEC games without a flag being thrown on an SEC opponent of South Carolina for holding.
SEC teams have also held the Gamecocks just three times dating back to the start of last season.
Despite Kentucky’s apparent stellar offensive line discipline, the Gamecock recorded six sacks and ten tackles for loss.
It should be mentioned that SC wasn’t called for holding in this game, either.
That’s really it for this edition of (Not) Holding in the SEC.
Check back in next week. I’m sure this space will be a little more heated after the Georgia game.
