The South Carolina Gamecocks practiced twice on Tuesday, and will scrimmage at Williams-Brice Stadium tonight at 7:30. Live5News.com has the details, and information on how to get into the stadium for the last public practice of the offseason.

“The Gamecocks are scheduled to scrimmage on Wednesday night at Williams-Brice Stadium, beginning at 7:30 p.m. That scrimmage is the final open practice of the fall. Due to construction work being done on the west side seating area, fans are asked to enter the stadium through gate 18 on the east side and sit in the lower east stands.”

I know a lot of Carolinians don’t like Fits News, but its founder is a Gamecock, and remains a Gamecocks fan to this day (even though he does write some unflattering stuff about the school’s athletics from time to time). The site Gamecocks love to hate has the story of a top rated DT who’s narrowed his choices Carolina and Georgia.

“Kelsey Griffin is a 6-foot-2, 290-pound defensive tackle from Mill Creek High School in Hoschton, Georgia.  According to 247Sports.com, this rising senior is the fifth-rated defensive tackle in the nation and the eighth-best high school player in Georgia… According to the Atlanta Journal Constitution, Griffin has narrowed his college choice down to two schools:  Georgia and South Carolina. ‘I can’t really say one is ahead of the other, Griffin told the paper. “I don’t know. It’s hard to decide. Both are pretty equal.’”

Not much else has happened in the way of news, so let’s move on to the Twitterverse:

Apparently the Gamecocks need your help in College Gameday’s voting. So vote!

I’m fairly certain this next tweet (which is from the first of August) refers to a comment Spurrier made about some of the younger players not getting after it enough. D.J. Swearinger (who also has the best Twitter handle ever) didn’t take to kindly to it, though.

And, finally, a video to get the day started right. Not many people realize it, because Ole Miss ended up tanking that ear, but at the time, this was one of the biggest wins in school history (since then USC has had three or four “biggest wins”)It was also the first time I remember “Sand Storm” playing at Williams-Brice.
