Gamecock Nation Morning Links
I know it’s too early to get depressed about Gamecocks basketball… Ok, I’m actually pretty excited to see what Frank Martin can turn this team into… but SC’s SEC basketball schedule was just released, and WLTX news has the run down:
“The Gamecocks will host nine league contests at Colonial Life Arena next season, including matchups with Arkansas, Tennessee and first-year SEC member Missouri. South Carolina will face Mississippi State, LSU, Vanderbilt, Georgia and Missouri in home-and-home series in 2013.”
WIS takes a look at the South Carolina and Clemson players that made SI’s preseason All American team:
“Lattimore and Watkins are listed in the magazine’s first team offense, while Clowney finds himself on the first team defense.”
Former Gamecock WR O.J. Murdock’s family donated his brain to researchers studying the effect of repetitive head injuries.
“Murdock, a former star wide receiver for Middleton High who went on to sign an NFL contract with the Tennessee Titans, died July 30 from an apparent self-inflicted gun wound to his head while sitting in his car just outside the fence of the football field he played on as a teen.”
Finally, no tweets, but a video from the (somewhat) way-back machine. Yeah, click clack.
