In the opening game of the season, South Carolina beat North Carolina 17-13 which was followed by back to back losses against Kentucky(26-22) and Georgia(52-20). Last Saturday Steve Spurrier and his Gamecocks turned things around beating the University of Central Florida 31-14.

Now the Gamecocks are going into their fifth game of the season against a decent 3-1 Missouri team, hungry for their first SEC win. Both teams are still looking for their identity on offense and both are starting freshman at the quarterback position.

Earlier in the week it was announced that Maty Mauk was suspended for the South Carolina game and that Drew Lock would get the start. This might not be a good thing though with many believing that Lock is a far better quarterback. The Gamecocks have still struggled with several things this season. Last year the offense could pick up the slack on defense but this season the Gamecocks have been below average in the passing game and run game.

We discovered T.J Holloman is a pretty good ball player due to his performance last game against UCF. With the meat of the Gamecocks SEC schedule coming up the Gamecocks need to find their identity this week against Missouri before playing LSU.
