Davis had been battling some injuries that held him out of several practices, first to his hamstring and then to his ribs. But those weren’t expected to keep him out of Thursday’s season opener.

As for Anderson, his status shifted early on during spring practice. . Anderson sat out the entire spring to get back to health, and even though he’s been given the green light, his situation will be something the Gamecocks will be sure to monitor throughout the game and as the season progresses. Jerell Adams has been listed as Anderson’s backup at tight end.
