Our countdown to the 2014 college football season continues as just 59 days separate us from kickoff between the South Carolina Gamecocks and Texas A&M Aggies at Williams-Brice Stadium on August 28.

What 59 days left means: This means it’s officially less than 2 months until the first game!  Season ticket sales are almost at max for Williams-Brice. With NBA, NHL, and College World Series over, fans are even more ready for College Football to begin.  Fans are starting to visit local stores to get their gear, and have a new store do so at Palmetto Moon in Village at Sandhills.

Who wears #59: Coleman Harley
The redshirt junior is a long snapper from South Aiken School.  Coleman joined the Gamecock squad in 2011 as a walk-on and is listed at 6’1″ and 254 pounds.  He has been the backup long snapper for the past two seasons.

Coach: Warren Giese was the coach this year, in his 4th of five seasons at Carolina, and definitely believed in the run-first strategy. He believed that the other team couldn’t score if they didn’t have the ball. This can be seen with QB Steve Satterfield who threw for 180 yards for the entire season. Phil Lavoie led the team in rushing with 522 yards, but this was a team that utilized an entire quad of running backs. The team was ranked as high as 11th early on, but fell quickly after struggling in losses against UNC and Clemson.
