4-star '15 NJ wideout Irvin Charles sets Gamecocks visit

The South Carolina Gamecocks have their eye on one of the top wide receivers in the nation, and he’s set to pay a visit to Columbia.

Haddonfield (NJ) Paul VI’s Irvin Charles, ranked as a four-star recruit by Rivals.com, announced the news on his Twitter account this morning.

Charles is the #31 receiver in the country and the #6 player in the state of New Jersey. Along with Carolina, his top five includes Florida, Maryland, Miami, Michigan State, Louisville and Penn State. The Gamecocks already have a four-star wideout in the bag: Dexter Neal from Stephenson (Ga.), but wouldn’t mind tacking on Charles as well. Not to be forgotten: QB Lorenzo Nunez, the 6th ranked quarterback in the country, so Carolina hopes to get a few more weapons for Nunez to go to if he pans out to be the team’s quarterback of the future as planned.

Several other players are set to visit this weekend, so we’ll keep you posted on who’s headed to town when we hear more.
