It seems like just a week ago we were all celebrating (not) responsibly after our South Carolina Gamecocks thwarted Clemson’s offense in (the other) Death Valley.

Wait a minute… It was just a week ago.

Well, today, the two sides meet up again, but they’ll trade that nasty grass up in Clemson for some nice, stained hardwood at Colonial Life Arena.

First and foremost, some great news: Brenton Williams, who took a very, very scary fall at St. Johns, will play today.

Also, Bruce Ellington will be with the squad, and will see extended minutes, until the football team starts practicing for the bowl game.

Michael Carrera will play his first home game in a while, after recording another double-double against the Red Storm.

Clemson is coming off a 73-61 loss to Purdue at home, and their only other loss on the season came at the hands of (then) No. 17 Gonzaga.

Like the Gamecocks, the Tigers are rebuilding. They’re in the 250s offensively points per game, rebounds and assists, and shoot the ball at just over 45 percent per game.

Their two leading scorers are Devin Booker and K.J. McDaniels who are both scoring a little over 11 points per game. Booker is also Clemson’s leading rebounder; he grabs just over seven boards per contest.

Carolina is looking to win its third straight game over Clemson (and seemingly its 100th counting all sports).
