According to a very reliable source, Gamecocks QB Connor Shaw was in class Monday morning wearing a soft walking boot on his left foot and using two black metal crutches to help him walk.

Shaw left Saturday’s game momentarily with an undisclosed injury, but missed just one play. He finished the game with 356 yards passing and three touchdowns on 22 of 32 passing. He also had 33 yards rushing and a touchdown. The Gamecocks beat Tennessee 38-35 despite losing Marcus Lattimore, who went down with a serious knee injury right before halftime.

The source didn’t see Shaw put any pressure on his left foot when he walked out of class.

Shaw suffered a hairline fracture in his throwing shoulder during South Carolina’s week one game against Vanderbilt.

He missed the ECU game and most of the UAB game before setting a South Carolina record for completions in a row against Missouri.

On the year, Shaw has completed 106 of his 160 pass attempts for 1338 yards, 12 touchdowns and five interceptions. He’s also ran the ball 103 times for 311 yards and two touchdowns.

The extent of the injury is unknown, but we should learn more about it when the Gamecocks take to the practice field later on today.

South Carolina has the weekend off before Arkansas comes to Columbia for the Gamecocks final SEC game of the year.
